"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I just discovered your portfolio and wish to add to the other comments here by saying how much I enjoyed my visit. I usually don't like heavy shadows in images, but I find that it works very well for you in your shots. Of course, like everyone else, I've collected some pieces for inspiration. There can be no doubt that I will probably find myself here again soon to beg for your permission to paint one of your models.
Over the past two years I've selected portraits I found to be both challenging and inspirational. This virtual gallery was assembled with photographic images I was lucky enough to find and compelling enough to mark as a Deviant Art favourite. It contains 28 images by 25 talented artists, all of whom created the artwork for their own reasons and were not involved in this project. I just wanted to showcase their talents and publicly thank them for enriching my life. The images are arranged to create a flow with placement that implies a narrative to the exhibit as a whole. Each image was created by the artists and models for their own reasons who may or may not have intended the interpretation I have given to their work but art is essentially a dialogue and I can only respond to the messages I received.
Other equally compelling artwork were sacrificed because they did not fit into this narrative. Those images, plus others, are in my Favourites and I encourage you to look at them and connect with the individual artists on their own sites.
